Before School Club
Our After School Athletic Program is designed to build core virtues and develop athletic skills in children. Each sport includes 6 practices and a tournament with other Great Heart schools. Practices will be centered on developing skills to further enhance their understanding in each sport. The winning team after the tournament will be awarded with a medal. Our number one goal is to have fun and grow as an individual while competing (Tuesdays, 3:20 - 4:30pm)
Become fully immersed in the world of art as we investigate a wide range of techniques through the classical lens and the vision of celebrated artists. As the student engages in the art making process, an emphasis is placed on the art elements and principles of design as they work through a variety of media such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage. Bricks4Kidz provides a stimulating atmosphere for young minds to build up motorized creations and have loads of fun using LEGO bricks. The activities are designed to spark imaginations and build self-confidence. Fun for all students grades K-5. Each session has a new theme and models. (Wednesdays, 2:20 - 3:20pm)
Studies by major corporations and universities have shown that Chess can help students increase their math and verbal skills, as well as creative and critical thinking abilities. All grades and abilities welcome! (Wednesdays, 2:20 - 3:20pm)

Golf Squad at Great Hearts Academy – Archway Scottsdale is offered during your school’s Fall/Spring Semesters. It is an eight week golf club that meets once a week for an hour with a golf industry professional. All participating families receive weekly emails detailing what students will be doing and learning that week in class. (Fridays, 3:30-4:30pm)
Our homework club allows students to complete their homework in a distraction-free environment. A veteran teacher will supervise students and provide support as needed. Students are encouraged to bring a book from home to complete their independent reading minutes. Grade level appropriate worksheets and chess will also be available when students finish. (Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30)

In Kickball Club students will learn the rules of kickball and have daily scrimmages! Each scrimmage will review the sport’s skillsets and will focus on one of our core virtues! Throughout each scrimmage, students will be encouraged to exhibit the day’s virtue. Our number one goal, though, is to have fun! (Thursdays, 3:30-4:30)
PE Games will be a club centered around games and activities we do in our PE program. Students will be able to further incorporate their skills that are practiced during PE classes. Each time the club meets, we will focus on a different PE Games that will give each student more time to build their skills. Games that will be played: Castle Ball, Capture the Ball, Steal the Bacon, Dodgeball, Torpedoes and Mines, and more! (Mondays, 3:30 - 4:30pm)
Running/Agility Club promotes physical activity before school which helps improve the health and focus of each individual scholar throughout the school day. Scholars will begin each morning with a dynamic warm-up, focusing on proper running technique. This year, we will focus on agility and footwork to create more speed. The overall goal is to encourage healthy active lifestyles. All participants will track different milestones they reach during the club.(M-F 7:00 - 7:30am)
Tennis Club is for all ages and levels. Students will progress through our red/orange/green dot progression. Students will learn to work together, develop hand eye coordination and understand the game of Tennis earlier. Rackets will be provided if needed. (Wednesdays, 2:20 - 3:20pm)

In the 3rd-5th Spanish club, scholars will be able to practice their conversation skills and improve their pronunciation in the Spanish language. Scholars will be using what they learn during class and there will be activities that are related to the Spanish curriculum. Scholars will also be learning more about the Spanish language, culture, and the people who speak the language. (Tuesdays, 3:30-4:25)

The mission of Speech and Debate is to teach and empower students to hold well-reasoned debates with their peers, to provide a platform for students to compete in a debate environment, and to improve student critical thinking and confidence in public speaking. (Fridays, 3:30-4:30 pm)
TechFun promotes technology education through interactive, game-based learning. Students will be introduced to coding utilizing our complete, sequential coding curriculum. Participants will also challenge each other’s knowledge by engaging in high-energy learning applications fostering communication and problem solving. Meet new friends, learn new skills, and have fun! (Thursdays, 3:30 - 4:30pm)
